Brent Brawling at the Borders Book Blog
by
What’s better than hearing your favorite writer geek out about writerly stuff? Hearing ME geek out about writerly stuff. What’s better than that? An epic MMA (mixed mental arts) cage match between Joe Abercrombie
in the lily white trunks, weighing in at ten stone, and Brent Weeks in the sunburnt red trunks, weighing in at oh-my-goodness. (Okay, so I don’t even know how much ten stone is. Quirky Brits, pounds and kilos not enough for you?)
Borders Books has recently launched its new blog on all things SFF over HERE. They’ve already had some real stars show up for two-week stints each, including Brandon Sanderson, China Mieville, Kim Harrison, and Robert Sawyer. Now they want me and Joe. Joe I can understand, I mean, LOOK at him. Step aside, Daniel Craig. I think I’ve been signed up to be a red shirt. Or maybe the Washington Generals. But I’ll be doing my best to be Apollo Creed instead. He won in that first movie, you know. Anyway, Joe and I will be duking it out from July 21st to August 1st, so please drop by with your snide comments, piercing questions, and adoration.
And if he humiliates me, well, Apollo Creed is supposed to make Rocky look good. (Just don’t go all Ivan Drago on me, Joe.)
You got him, just let the Durzo out in ya 😛
Ten stone? 140 pounds. Which is a bit less than the weight of Joe’s ego. 🙂
Not the right place to put this comment, but hey, what the heck. Just finished the Night Angel series. You have won a fan. Fantastic trilogy is the least I can say.
What’s more important is that you owe us adoring fans another trilogy at the least with Kylar Stern in it. You could start with that sword fight with Lantano which he has promised 5 yrs from now. Would be waiting eagerly for that trilogy. Thanks for the great books though.
I’m with Tushar – just finished the trilogy and you’ve got a fan (one who isn’t easy to win in the SFF genre, by the by). There is such a wealth of possibility for the future, and not just that fight with Lantano! I was hooked by the thought of Ezra only having about 15 years left holding back Satan’s Hands… Plus, there is the small thing most of us girly types are wanting – more Vi Sovari. Just keep her “real” don’t make her all Chantry on us.
No matter what you write – just write!
I enjoyed your verbal sparring with Joe and I seriously hope you’ll find some time to do something similar again. Soon. 😉
you and joe are 2 of my favorite contemporary fantasy writers (you both just need to put out some more stuff, no need to rush we will be patient, but don’t let us loose interest either 😉 (id also like to see you tackle a new idea before continuing with the night angel story)) where can i read the dialog between the 2 of you?
Hi, i’m 13.
BEST SERIES EVER.
There has got to be a 4th.
What happens to vi? kylar? supposedly Kylar’s sun? duel with Lantano Garuwashi? the prophecy of the high king? logan? the wolf? durzo?
all i have to say i love this series and im already rereading it for the FOURTH time. Never can get enough of it. please get a 4th, it’s just too good a storyline to not continue.
I finished the triology yesterday, feel kinda sorry for Kylar, Vi ends up okay, Logan as well, Durzo too just like everybody else. BUT YOU CAN’T DROP THE SERIES, THEY’RE GREAT, and we would all miss Kylar.
PS: During Shadows edge the godking asks kylar why does he hava a name being a guild rat while everybody had pathetic names, at first i guessed there was something to it and i still believe so. DON’T MAKE ME WAIT IN VAIN
