Brent should write whatever he wants to write, I’m confident that the more enthusiastic he is about his project the better it’ll be, and I want the best work I can get from him. Even if it means waiting a bit longer. Although I’ve got to admit, the tragi-comedy thing just sounds weird and Gothic isn’t really my thing, and I’m not even sure in which sense the “romance” is being added. A TES novel would be pretty good though. I’d read that. And it seems like the market for TES stuff is growing pretty rapidly…
But I’d definitely rather a Midcyru novella or the Blinding Knife/Blood Mirror before anything else. And the next Midcyru books as soon as possible too.
If I really could make Brent write ANYTHING though, it would be the Alkestian Cycle. Now, in a couple decades, whenever. But that is a story that needs to be told.
I found myself here on a whim after devouring the Night Angel series. And what a pleasure it is to read even Mr Weeks’ writing advice! I cant say that I’m any kind of writer, but I love learning about the craft and skill that goes into it all. A big thank you to you, Mr Weeks, for lifting the curtain and showing us all a little of your magic.
